Abstract:

Seven species of cirripeds were found in Bransfield Strait, Antarctic: Australscalpellum schizmatoplacianum Newman and Ross, 1971. Litoscalpellum compactum (Borradaile, 1916) comb. n., L. discoveryi (Gruvel, 1906), Anguloscalpellum angulare Cantell 1930) Trianguloscalpellum liberum (Nilson-Cantell, 1930), T. magnaecarinae (Nilsson-Cantell, 1930) and Brathylasma corolliforme (Hoek, 1883). Trianguloscalpellum compactum is transferred to Litoscalpellum Newman and Ross, 1971, due to a reduction in the size of plates. Five of the species have their geographic distribution restricted to the Antarctic Peninsula; only L. discoveryi and B. corolliforme are more widespread distributed in the Antarctic.
