Abstract:

Deep-sea barnacles (Cirripedia: Thoracica) were sampled during a cruise of the research vessel Odyssey in waters of southern Vietnam in 1984. In all, seven species were found: Paralepas scutiger, Megalasma minus, Scalpellum stearnsii var. inerme, Arcoscalpellum sociabile sociabile, Rostratoverruca intexta, Solidobalanus echinoplacis, and Striatobalanus tenuis. These species, with the exception of S. tenuis, are new records for Vietnam. Their descriptions, figures, and comparisons with literature data are presented.
